The safety of team members and customers remains the number one priority, and a series of social distancing measures have been put in place. Tickets should be pre-booked online with a limited number of visitors permitted in the attraction at one time. Groups will have two hours for their pre-booked visit. Animal handling sessions are on hold and there will be no birthday parties until further notice.

There will be a one-way system in place, team members will be wearing masks, and visitors are requested to wear masks in the gift shop. All the measures in place have secured VisitScotland’s Good to Go accreditation.

Graeme Jenkins, CEO of Dobbies, which owns Edinburgh Butterfly and Insect World, said: “We have successfully re-opened garden centres and restaurants across the UK, and are well-placed to welcome visitors back to Butterfly World. Well done to our team members who secured VisitScotland’s Good to Go accreditation. We look forward to welcoming visitors for a fun and safe day out.”
