Lasswade care home staff celebrate 50 years of service

Three dedicated members of staff from a Lasswade care home have received a prestigious long service year award celebrating their loyalty to providing care and assistance for Barchester Healthcare.

The women from Drummond Grange Care Home have worked a combined total of 50 years between them.

Their expertise over their years of service has provided comfort and care to residents of the home as well as peace of mind for their families and loved ones.

Frances Thomas, who now works in administration, started at Barchester in November 1990 and has worked with residents and their relatives to ensure that their needs have been met over the years.

Eleanor Wilson General Manager started in November 2010 and Gail Clapperton also started in November 1990 and is unit manager of the complex care.

Jane McFarlane, employee services director at Barchester said: “I’m always pleased to hear stories about the long service of Barchester staff and am delighted Frances, Eleanor and Gail has achieved this milestone. It is dedication like this that ensures our residents are provided with a happy place to live.”

Eleanor Wilson, general manager of Drummond Grange Care Home said: “We’re delighted to be celebrating 50 years of loyal service with Frances, Gail and myself.

“They have demonstrated their dedication and loyalty to this home and its residents year after year. I speak for all of us here at Drummond Grange Care Home when I say that I’m looking forward to many more years of working with Frances and Gail.”

Drummond Grange Care Home provides nursing and dementia care for 114 residents from respite care to long-term stays.
