Leith Festival arranges gala day events to replace cancelled event which would have happened this weekend

Leith gala day which was meant to take place on Saturday 13 June has been cancelled due to the Covid-19 pandemic, but organisers have arranged for activities to get involved with throughout the week.

The events and activities will take place between 13 and 21 June both on and offline.

Leith Festival, who organise the gala will post daily photos from past festivals and are encouraging people to guess the year that they were taken. The posts will take place daily across Leith Festival’s social media channels.

Leith’s past, present and future poster challenge is asking those who wish to participate to create a poster to show something from present day Leith, the history of the area or what you would like to see in the future and share the creations online or in your windows.

The festival will also let residents behind the scenes to get to know who organises the festival each year by showcasing the team members who are involved and share information on how others can get involved.

The week will also celebrate volunteers and showcase Leith talent, promoting the works of musicians, artists and makers.

Currently Leith Festival is postponed until September 2020 will further details to be released this month about the event.
