Little Mix to hold open mic auditions in Edinburgh in search for Scots talent

Top girl band Little Mix are set to hold auditions in the Capital in a bid to find the best Scottish talent for their new television show.

Producers from the new show The Search will be holding open mic sessions on Monday 18 November in a bid to find singers to be given the opportunity to be mentored by Perrie Edwards, Jesy Nelson, Jade Thirlwall and Leigh-Anne Pinnock as part of the new BBC One programme.

Overall winners will then go on to form a new group that will be given the chance to go on tour with Little Mix in 2020.

A spokesperson for the BBC said: "Little Mix The Search is a new Saturday night BBC One series which will see global superstars Little Mix looking for incredible singers to form a brand new band. The winning group who could be all-female, all-male or mixed get a career launch-pad like no other – supporting Little Mix on their UK Summer Tour 2020.

"You could find yourself working with some of the world’s best music producers, songwriters and choreographers, collaborating with other exceptional singers and performing live to millions every week.

"If you’re a talented vocalist and think you’ve got what it takes to be in the next big band then apply now."

To audition, wannabe singers can apply for a slot by emailing [email protected], with those accepted being asked to go to the Footlights bar on Spittal Street on Monday from 6pm onwards. The organisers have stated that those applying must be aged at least 16 years old before or on the 31st January 2020, and that those under the age of 18 will need permission from parents or guardians.

Speaking about the auditions a spokesperson for Little Mix said: "We want solo artists to audition as well as groups and every type of genre is welcome too. It's going to be really exciting and people can apply right now."
