An Edinburgh bar has created a special cocktail for Line of Duty star Martin Compston after his hilarious response to someone buying him a drink in their beer garden.

The beloved Scottish actor spent his birthday in the Capital at the Rose Street Garden on George Street last week.

He was pictured with fellow cast mates from TV show The Rig at the cocktail and street food spot in the city centre.

Rose Street Garden has now released a special cocktail just for him, sharing this story on social media: "After the hilarious event when a customer tried to send Martin Compston a cosmopolitan for his birthday at RSG and he was quoted as saying “How would that be my drink I’m fae Greenock. I canny even spell cosmopolitan” ... we’re delighted to announce our newest cocktail the COMPSTON-POLITAN.”

The bar has said that the cocktail will be on sale from Wednesday.
