Midlothian groups pay respects to the Queen
When her death was announced on Thursday, Midlothian community groups, businesses and the general public went online to express their sorrow and pay tribute to the United Kingdom’s longest reigning monarch.
The Moredun Foundation, based at the Bush Estate near Penicuik, said in a statement: “Moredun was very sad to learn of the death of Her Majesty The Queen and recognise her many contributions and love of animals and the countryside.

Hide Ad"We would like to offer our condolences to our patron HRH The Princess Royal and the rest of the Royal Family.”
Volunteer Midlothian said: “We were deeply saddened to hear of the death of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. The Queen dedicated her life to serving the British people, and was a strong supporter of charities and volunteering. It is the end of an era.”
Midlothian's online source of mental health and wellbeing information, Midspace, tweeted: “Our thoughts and condolences are with the Royal Family and to everyone who is saddened by the news of the death of Her Majesty the Queen.
"Grief can impact us all in different and unexpected ways. The news also brings more change to all our lives.”
