This survey is an important follow-up to Scotland’s Census and there are a number of ways to still take part.

Householders that have been selected can complete a short doorstep interview, or if a questionnaire has been posted through your letterbox, you should complete and return it as soon as you can.

Alternatively, householders can call the free helpline on 0800 033 4010 and complete the questionnaire over the phone with interviewers also being able to arrange for a telephone appointment at a set time if easier.

Pete Whitehouse, National Records of Scotland Director of Statistical Services, said: “I would urge all those households who have been invited to take part in the census coverage survey to please act now. This survey is an integral part of the census and will help ensure we have the most accurate population estimates possible. It’s really important as this information is used to plan school places, healthcare services and a wide range of other public and charitable bodies.

CCS staff carry ID and their identity can be checked with a free telephone helpline on 0800 033 4010. They will never ask people for financial information like their bank account details and will not ask for money.”

Households who have not received any mail or visits can assume they are not part of the 1.5 per cent of households being sampled in the CCS.
