Mystery bride and groom from stunning Edinburgh castle picture found after local photographer appealed for help to track them down

Edinburgh based photographer, Matt Blakie took to Twitter last night to try to track down a mystery couple after snapping a stunning picture of them outside Edinburgh castle on their wedding day – and he has found them.

His initial tweet asking if anyone knew the couple has over 800 likes and with the help of the Edinburgh Evening News, Matt has managed to get in touch with them.

He said the pair are over the moon with the shot and plans to meet them to give them a print free of charge.

He told the Evening News: "The groom was absolutely delighted, obviously they just got married yesterday so it was such a special moment, especially with wedding the being at the moment with restrictions, they said they had had to cancel it before and it’s been really tough. "I was chatting to the bride as well and she said it felt like a Cinderella moment, so that was really to hear.”

He continued: “I’ve been so busy working today but all I’ve heard behind me is my phone buzzing constantly, every time I checked it was like another 50 likes, another 50 likes."

A family member saw Matt’s tweet and replied thanking him for capturing such a beautiful moment for her Uncle and his wife.

Matt added: “They had asked their wedding photographer if it was possible to get a drone shot for them but he couldn’t fly a drone over the castle because it’s illegal so they

were so happy that they managed to still get a shot from above.
