PetStay, launched today, lets your dog stay at the home of a dedicated carer, where it will be looked after on a one-to-one basis, meaning it can stay in its normal routine.

Alice King, 23, who has started the Edinburgh franchise, said the service will ensure dogs can be in their “most comfortable environment” when their owners are away.

She said: “I am obsessed with dogs and have always loved living around them. Following the completion of my degree, I have decided to combine my business and organisational skills with my lifelong passion and experience in looking after dogs.

“Home boarding your dog is the perfect alternative to kennels. I could never stand the thought of leaving my dogs locked up in kennels when I am away and I want to ensure they enjoy themselves just as much as I am. With PetStay it is ensured that your dog will be in the most comfortable environment and being well looked after by one of our carefully considered and handpicked carers. It is very important to us that we match your dog and the carer accordingly to ensure they are both right for each other. Most importantly we make sure that the carer can adapt to the dogs daily routine, rather than the opposite way around. Our carers are the most reliable and trustworthy in the area and all are interviewed in their own homes, fully licensed and insured.”

Before a dog boards with PetStay you will be given a meet and greet where you and your dog will be introduced to the carer in their home.
