Piers Morgan says he has ‘great respect’ for Nicola Sturgeon
and live on Freeview channel 276
Ms Sturgeon celebrated turning 50 yesterday.
The Good Morning Britain presenter was just one of thousands of people who sent the First Minister birthday messages on social media.
“Happy 50th Birthday, First Minister Nicola Sturgeon,” he wrote, “Great respect for the fact you always face the music & never duck interviews.”
Mr Morgan posted a photo of Ms Sturgeon being interviewed on Good Morning Britain alongside his co-host Susanna Reid.
The early-morning ITV show has struggled to interview officials from the UK government, with ministers refusing to appear on the show for several weeks on end.
Ms Sturgeon said she was 'overwhelmed' by the response from supporters on her birthday.
She told followers on Twitter: "To say I'm overwhelmed by all the cards, flowers and good wishes I have received from across the country for my (ahem) 50th birthday, would be an understatement...
"So I just wanted to pop on here briefly (before hopefully staying away for the rest of the day!) to say thank you."
