Police close East Lothian road following 'serious' crash

Police have put diversions in place

A crash has occurred on the A198 between Dirleton and North Berwick

A serious two car crash has occurred on the A198 between Dirleton and North Berwick shortly after 12.45pm on Thursday.

The stretch of road between Station Road, Dirleton and North Berwick has been closed.

Writing on Facebook, East Lothian Police said: “We can advise that the A198 at Dirleton is currently closed in both directions due to a road crash.

“Motorists are advised to use an alternative route at this time.”

They called the crash “serious” in a previous post.

Diversions are in place and police are asking motorists to avoid this area if possible.
