Police are appealing for information after a vulnerable woman from Tranent was reported missing.

Maureen Mary Steele, 46, was last seen on Friday, July 31 leaving her home in Tranent and her family are extremely concerned for her welfare.

She is white, five foot and four inches tall with shoulder length blonde hair.

It is not known what she was wearing when she went missing but it is known that she has access to a silver Vauxhall Corsa with plate SG16 EWT.

Inspector Mark Wilson said: “It's out of character for Maureen not to be in touch with her family or friends and they are very worried.

“We just want to know she is safe and well.

“If anyone has seen Maureen or her vehicle, please contact officers at Tranent Police Station urgently via 101, quoting reference 4691 of 01/08/2020."
