Dalkeith Arts had been busy during lockdown working together with One Dalkeith on this project, that brought together art and history with a view to creating a visual memorial of a dark period in the town’s history.

Dalkeith Arts obtained funding through the government’s Covid-19 Community Fund and commissioned 10 local artists to paint ten panels, which depict six of the many women who were accused of and executed for witchcraft in Dalkeith.

The remaining four include a portrait of the local witch pricker, and the final three are of iconic buildings in Dalkeith.
