The Red Arrows will perform a flypast over Edinburgh today - here are the times you can see them
The Red Arrows are set to perform a flypast over Edinburgh today to mark the 75th anniversary of VJ Day.
The Royal Air Force aircraft will fly over the Capital at 11:30am before heading for Belfast, Cardiff and London later this afternoon.
An official tweet from the Red Arrows – known for their aerobatics and red, white and blue trails – said it will be the first time in eight years that the planes will perform such flypasts, since the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
It has been organised to commemorate VJ Day on August 15, 1945 - the day World War Two ended with Japan's surrender after the US dropped two atomic bombs in the country, killing 214,000 people.
VJ Day - or Victory over Japan Day - ended one of the worst episodes in British military history, in which tens of thousands of servicemen were forced to endure the brutalities of prisoner of war camps.
