After the Royal Yacht’s Trust announced the Edinburgh attraction would be closed for the foreseeable future, we decided to take a stroll down memory lane and take a look at this stunning piece of history.

The tourist attraction reported losses of £2.4m due to coronavirus restrictions and has now temporarily closed its doors.

The yacht served as the Royal Yacht of Queen Elizabeth II between 1954 and 1997 before it was retired and is now berthed at the Ocean Terminal in Leith.

These pictures give us a glimpse of the story of this iconic yacht.
