Seven year old suffered serious injuries after being hit by a car in Portobello

Police in Edinburgh are appealing for information from anyone who has any information about the incident.

Police in Edinburgh have launched an appeal after a seven year old child was hit by a car on Abercorn Terrace in Portobello around 9.20pm on Wednesday, June 24.

The young boy was taken to the Royal Hospital for Sick children for treatment for serious injuries, and his condition is now described as stable.

The car was a Toyota C-HR, and the driver was uninjured.

Sergeant Peter Scott of the Edinburgh Road Policing Unit said: "We are carrying out enquiries to establish the full circumstances which led to this incident."

"I would urge any witnesses or anyone who has dashcam or private CCTV footage to contact police."

"You can pass information by calling 101, quoting incident 4084 of 24 June."
