THE international smash-hit musical Six, which started life as a student production at the Edinburgh Fringe in 2017, is set to be the first West End musical to perform in the Capital after lockdown

The electrifying musical phenomenon by Toby Marlow and Lucy Moss will become the first West End musical to resume performances across the UK as part of the Utilita Live From The Drive-In summer series.

Six, which sold out its run at the Festival Theatre earlier this year, will play eight shows a week at 12 open air sites across the UK, including The Royal Highland Centre, Ingliston, from Tuesday 1 to Sunday 6 September. Each performance will be able to accommodate 300 vehicles with a maximum of seven people in each car. Musical theatres fans will then be able to picnic and party as they watch the festival-style full length show live from their own dedicated area, next to their vehicle.

Producer Kenny Wax says, “We are delighted that Six will spearhead the reopening of one of London and the UK’s most popular shows.

“With the industry in crisis, theatres struggling and some even going out of business, this drive-in event offers hope for the future and equally importantly, jobs for about 50 of our company, including cast, musicians, stage managers, technicians and freelancers.

“We are using both our West End and UK touring casts, rehearsing and touring them in a bubble and having them work in teams of as per the government guidance.”

First performed as in a 100-seat room at the 2017 Fringe, Six tells the story of the wives of Henry VIII. From Tudor Queens to Pop Princesses, they take to the mic to tell their tales, remixing 500 years of historical heartbreak into a 75-minute celebration of 21st century girl power.
