Their owner was left "devastated" as their disappearance prompted a frantic search.

"Guys they've been found," Emma Rafferty, who was walking the pair for her mum, posted on Facebook this morning.

Emma, from Gorebridge, had been strolling through the nearby park at around 11.30am yesterday when the dogs took off.

She and her mother, Rita, are led a desperate search for the loyal pets in the area.

Emma told how the pair have been "a rock" to her mother since the recent death of her husband.

"My mum is devastated," she posted. "She just lost her husband and these two dogs keep her going through the toughest of times.

"They are holding her together. Please return them or help us find them."
