Spring cleaning - with a difference - at Rosslyn Chapel

A programme of spring cleaning with a difference has been taking place this week, as part of ongoing conservation maintenance, at Rosslyn Chapel’s iconic north and south doorways.

The work, including the removal of loose dirt and cobwebs, re-pointing lintels and maintenance repairs to degraded stones and carvings, was undertaken by Alex Kelly of Eden Conservation for Rosslyn Chapel Trust.

Rosslyn Chapel was founded on a small hill above Roslin Glen as a Catholic collegiate church in the mid-15th century, and is one of Midlothian’s top tourist attractions.
