Plucky Peter, an accounting and finance student at the University of Edinburgh, has charmed fans of the show throughout the series with his mild manners and wild bakes.

Hide AdThe 20-year-old goes into tonight’s episode - slated to be one of the most-watched in GBBO history - as the favourite, after a barn-storming semi-final saw him win all three tasks, scoop Star Baker and receive a Hollywood Handshake.
But he faces stiff competition from two other accomplished bakers.
Laura, 31, a digital manager from Kent, struggled in the semi-final and narrowly avoided being sent home, but has wowed judges in the past with her mastery of flavour.

Hide AdAnd Dave, 30, a security guard from Hampshire, received glowing praise last week after impressing in the showstopper challenge.
Peter has his work cut out, but the Edinburgh Evening News has a message for him: We believe in you.
You have wowed the judges and honoured your homeland in your baking, using Scottish ingredients – including berries, whisky, oats and honey – whenever you could.

Of course, mild-mannered Peter already knows how he has fared in tonight’s final, but the rest of us face an agonising wait to see whether he is crowned as winner of the 11th series of the show.
