Lewis Capaldi has shared a hilarious video on social media, backing The Snuts in their bid to become the first Scottish band in 14 years to top the UK album charts – while cleaning up dog poo.

The West Lothian rockers' debut album, WL, is in a fierce battle with Demi Lovato’s Dancing with the Devil... The Art of Starting Over for the No.1 spot this weekend.

Capaldi and The Snuts are old school pals from Whitburn and the Someone You Loved hitmaker has shown his support by posting a video message to his 1.4 million Twitter followers, asking them to purchase the album.

In true Capaldi style, the video sees the Scottish chart sensation singing the band’s praises while cleaning up some dog poo.

“It’s Lewis Capaldi here, this is my dog Frank and I’m just off to pick up a little bit of sh*t that he’s done,” says the 24-year-old in the video.

“He’s laid quite the log in my kitchen and while I was doing that, I thought I would ask all of you out there to please make sure you go and buy, download and stream The Snuts’ brand new album WL, which came out last Friday. It’s so close to number one and it’s the boys against Demi Lovato.

“Listen, we all love Demi Lovato but sometimes we have to make sacrifices. So go out there and get the record.”
