These are the Edinburgh postcodes currently without electricity - and when power is expected to return

Homes in various parts of Edinburgh have been hit by power cuts this morning.

Several Edinburgh postcodes have been affected.

Scottish Power Energy Networks says there is an outage in the EH2 postcode which is affecting Thistle Street and the surrounding area.

Engineers carried out an "emergency shutdown" at 8:30am to complete repairs on the underground cable network and replace a junction box.

A statement added: "We will work to get your power back on as quickly and as safely as possible by 12:30pm.

"We apologise for the inconvenience and thank you for your patience. This message was updated at 9:58am on Wednesday, 29 April 2020

Power is expected to be restored at these postcodes in the Thistle Street area by about 12:30pm;

EH21AA, EH21DF, EH21DR, EH21DX, EH21DY, EH21EA, EH21EN, EH21EW, EH21EX, EH21JX

Faults have also been identified in these postcode areas near the Cowgate:

EH11HN, EH11NS

These postcodes in the Grindlay Street area were also affected earlier today but power was restored by about 10:55am;

EH12DJ, EH39AN, EH39AP, EH39AW, EH39AZ
