UK Government reminds Scots that they may be entitled to Cold Weather Payments
The UK Government is reminding Scots that as the nights get longer and temperatures drop they may be entitled to cash to help with energy bills to keep homes warm.
Those who receive Pension Credit, Income Support, income-based Jobseeker’s Allowance, Employment and Support Allowance, Universal Credit or Support for Mortgage Interest may be eligible for Cold Weather Payments which total £25 for each seven days of actual or forecast temperatures below freezing in your area starting from November 1 until March 31 2021.

Eligibility for the payment can be checked on the gov.uk website while an online checker can assist in letting you know if your area is due a payment.
Cold Weather Payments do not affect other benefits and if you are eligible but have not received your payment, you are asked to contact your pension centre or Jobcentre Plus office.
Those receiving Universal Credit can sign into their account and add a note to their journal.
