The star was spotted around Edinburgh yesterday.

Vanessa Hudgens has been spotted in the Capital shooting the sequel to her 2018 feel-good Netflix Christmas film, The Princess Switch.

In the film, the star plays a princess named Duchess Margaret Delacourt, from the fictional English-speaking country Belgravia, as well as a baker named Stacy De Novo, from Chicago, in a Parent Trap style film in which the two identical girls switch lives.

While their lives are switched, Stacy falls for Margaret’s husband-to-be Prince Edward, played by Sam Palladio, while Margaret finds herself falling head-over-heels for Kevin, played by Nick Sagar, who is Stacy’s best friend.

A tweet from Netflix's SeeWhatsNext account said: "In the sequel, Duchess Margaret unexpectedly inherits the throne and hits a rough patch with Kevin so it's up to Stacy to save the day before a new lookalike – party girl Fiona – foils their plans."

The new film will see the Spring Breakers star play three roles rather than two as well as having a producer credit. Fans can expect a third identical stranger in addition to Margaret and Stacy.

The Princess Switch: Switched Again is set for a 2020 release.

Rosie Ellison, Head of Film Edinburgh, said: "Edinburgh has once again got top billing in attracting an international feature film. Coming off the back of Belgravia, Fast & Furious 9 and Eurovision, this is further evidence of Edinburgh’s film-friendly reputation. Princess Switch 2 is a romantic comedy starring Vanessa Hudgens which will bring our city to a new audience on Netflix."

Last month, the 30-year-old's latest film was released titled The Knight Before Christmas which sees her play an Ohio teacher who runs into a time travelling knight.

The actress was alone in the car as she was filmed.

In an Instagram story last night, she posted an image of George Street club WhyNot's drink menu, after seeing the funny side of drinks such as the 'Calvin Haggis' 'Yaldi Capaldi' and 'Kanye Handle It'.

This morning a clip on her Instagram story from a car shows her driving towards the Firth of Forth where the Queensferry Crossing and Forth Rail Bridge can be seen.
