Emma Chalmers and Anne Daly are behind popular tour company Mary’s Meanders, and came up with the idea after being inspired whilst enjoying a road trip to the Highlands this summer.

While visitors are unable to visit the country due to travel restrictions caused by Covid, the two came up with the innovative idea to bring Scotland to them.

Included in the box is everything needed to experience Scotland from afar including ten artisan mementos and souvenirs such as a scented air freshener, ‘Irn-Bru’ flavoured lip balm and traditional tea and snacks as well as audio from from Anne and Emma with guest contributors Gillebride Macmillan, an award winning Gaelic singer, also known as Gwyllyn the Bard in Outlander, Maestro Paul MacDonald who shares his inimitable and well-loved stories of some of Scotland’s heroes and finishing off with a selection of Scottish favourite tracks for a singalong.

Initial feedback has seen heart warming stories of the box bringing back special memories pouring in, one lady sent the box to her mum in Hawaii to remind her of their Scottish vacation last summer – the last time they were able to spend time together due to restrictions. Another story came from a hospital in North Carolina where nurses enjoyed a quick ceilidh whilst on a break.

The box costs £55 plus postage and can be sent to Australia, Canada, Europe, United States and New Zealand and can be purchased from the Scottish Road Trip website.
