Woman in 60s who was found seriously injured in Edinburgh street identified by police

Police Scotland have confirmed that a woman who was found seriously injured on Sunday has now been identified.

The woman in her 60s was found lying on the pavement seriously injured on Laverockbank Road, Edinburgh, at around 5.30pm on Sunday September 27.

She was found by a passer-by in the Trinity area before being taken to hospital for treatment.

Police Scotland issued an appeal for anyone who was in the area to come forward with information which could assist them in identifying the individual so they could inform her

family of her condition.

They confirmed earlier today that she has now been identified and would like to thank everyone who got in touch as a result of the appeal to find out her identity.

Enquiries are ongoing to find out what happened and anyone with information is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident number 3537 of Sunday, 27 September, or make a call anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
