In a statement Xander's parents, Victoria and Paul, said they "feel as if their hearts have been ripped out".

Last week they thanked the paramedics, police, fire and rescue service and members of the public for their help at the scene of the accident.

A fundraiser set up for the family of the toddler has seen donations of more than £24,000 flood in. Should any members of the public wish to make donations they can do so to the GoFundMe page where Victoria and Paul will choose a charity to donate to to help those in need.
