Person dies after being hit by train between Polmont and Croy stations
Emergency services are currently on the scene.
ScotRail announced the incident on its Twitter feed and due to the ongoing incident has announced that trains running between Edinburgh to Glasgow Queen Street, via Falkirk High, will now be diverted and run via Falkirk Grahamston.
In two Twitter posts from a ScotRail representative wrote: “Sadly, a person has been hit by a train between Croy and Polmont. The emergency services are on their way, I'll keep you updated.”

Hide Ad“UPDATE: We're going to divert our Edinburgh - Glasgow Queen St services that normally run via Falkirk High.
These will now run via Falkirk Grahamston instead.”
One passenger aboard the train which was travelling from Glasgow Queen Street to Edinburgh said: “We’re currently sitting in carriage one on the 12:15pm train from Glasgow Queen Street to Edinburgh Waverley, we stopped at Falkirk High and were going to Polmont when we felt like we had hit something.
“There are loads of ambulances, the police and the fire brigade, the police boarded the train and spoke to the driver who seems to be holding up.”
The passenger added the train was not leaving where it was located any time soon.

Hide AdA spokeswoman for the British Transport Police said: “Officers were called to the line in Falkirk at 12:44pm following report of a casualty on the tracks.
"Paramedics also attended however sadly a person has been pronounced dead at the scene. The incident is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the Procurator Fiscal.”
