Pervert downloaded child porn and animal sex films

A PERVERT downloaded thousands of disgusting images and movies of child pornography including movies of adults having sex with animals.

Neil Hood was caught with the extreme images featuring dogs, pigs and horses at his home in Dunbar, East Lothian, last year.

Hood had used file sharing software to access the sickening photos and film online over a seven-month period.

The 22-year-old pleaded guilty to three charges at Edinburgh Sheriff Court today and he was immediately placed on the sex offenders register.

The court was told Hood was not at home when police officers turned up at his home with a search warrant in August last year where they confiscated a laptop containing the illicit pictures.

Fiscal depute Kirsty Anderson said: “Officers were allowed in by his mother and a search took place. A laptop was seized belonging to Mr Hood. Contact was then made with Mr Hood and he was arrested.”

Ms Anderson added Hood had downloaded more than 80,000 photographs of child pornography along with 108 movies of extreme bestiality featuring adults having sex with animals.

He had told officers he had been downloading the sickening images for a number of years and was attempting to wean himself off as he knew it was wrong.

Defence solicitor Mark Harrower said his client was in full-time employment and had started counselling on a voluntary basis since being arrested.

Sheriff Alistair Noble placed Hood on the sex offenders register and deferred sentence to next month for the preparation of reports.

Hood pleaded guilty to possessing indecent photos of children between January 1 and August 16 last year at his home address, and to taking or permit to be taken indecent photos of children between January 1 and July 28 last year.

He also admitted to possessing extreme pornographic images depicting bestiality between February 20 and April 13 last year at his home address.
