Tobin was rushed to hospital on February 7 after suffering a suspected stroke at Saughton Prison.

But Michael Hamilton, 65, described the serial killer’s illness as a “warped party piece” intended to heap more misery for him and his family.

Ms Hamilton was abducted from a bus stop in Bathgate on February 10, 1991.

Her father said: “I know Tobin’s faking it. This was just play-acting on his part, a warped party piece deliberately staged to coincide with the anniversary.

“It’s too coincidental. The anniversary was reported to the media prior to Tobin being rushed to hospital.

“It’s as though he’s pulled this stunt to further torment us.”

The 69-year-old is serving three life sentences for killing 15-year-old Vicky, Dinah McNicol, 18, and Polish student Angelika Kluk, 23.
