Pipers bag contest win

PIPERS from Prestonpans are celebrating after success at a major championships.

The Prestonpans British Legion Pipe Band sealed first place in the Grade 4 competition at the Scottish Championships in Dumbarton, West Dunbartonshire, last weekend.

Eight pipers and seven drummers secured the band’s first victory “in a wee while”.

Stewart Martin, president and chairman of the band, said: “We’re over the moon. We enter every year but haven’t won in a wee while. It was a great day.”
