Police appeal after 44 year-old man dies in horrific road incident on M8 in West Lothian

Road policing officers are appealing for information after a 44 year-old male pedestrian was struck by ‘a number of vehicles’ on the M8 in West Lothian this morning and died at the scene.

The incident happened on the westbound carriageway between junction 3A and 4 for Blackburn at around 2.45am today.

Police Scotland has now launched an investigation into the incident and are particularly keen to speak to those in a white car at the time of the collision. Sergeant Jill Kirkpatrick said: “I am appealing to anyone else who may have seen this incident to get in touch.

“In particular we are keen to speak to the occupants of a white coloured car seen at the time of the collision and anyone else who may have dash-cam footage that could help with our enquiries.“If you can help please contact Police Scotland on 101.”
