Police appeal after 44 year-old man dies in horrific road incident on M8 in West Lothian

The incident happened in the earlier hours of New Year's Day.

The incident happened on the westbound carriageway between junction 3A and 4 for Blackburn at around 2.45am today.

The 44-year-old man died at the scene.The road was closed for collision investigation work, however, re-opened around 11am.

Police Scotland has now launched an investigation into the incident and are particularly keen to speak to those in a white car at the time of the collision. Sergeant Jill Kirkpatrick said: “I am appealing to anyone else who may have seen this incident to get in touch.

“In particular we are keen to speak to the occupants of a white coloured car seen at the time of the collision and anyone else who may have dash-cam footage that could help with our enquiries.“If you can help please contact Police Scotland on 101.”
