Police appeal as teenager goes missing

POLICE are appealing for information to help trace a missing West Lothian teenager.

Sian Hamilton left her accommodation in Newland’s House, Bathgate, on Friday, December 21, to visit family in the East Calder area.

However, the 17-year-old has failed to make contact with relatives or friends since and concern is growing for her welfare.

Police are keen to hear from anyone who can assist with their inquiries.

She is described as white, 5ft 4ins tall with a slight build, brown hair that is usually tied in a ponytail and a tattoo, which says CONNAR, on her right forearm. Sian was last seen wearing a brown jacket with white lettering on the front, dark jeans, brown furry boots and a pink scarf.

Inspector Greg Forbes said: “Sian knows West Lothian fairly well and so we would urge our local communities to come forward if they believe they have seen her since the 21st.

“I would also ask that Sian make contact with someone – be it friends, family or police – to confirm she is safe and well.”

Those with information can contact Lothian and Borders Police on 0131-311 3131, or Crimestoppers in complete anonymity on 0800 555 111.
