Police appeal for dead woman’s next of kin

POLICE are appealing for help to help trace next of kin for a woman who died in her home.

Carol Lawson passed away in her home in Wauchope House in Greendykes Road on Tuesday.

There are no suspicious circumstances surrounding the 53-year-old’s death, and a report is set to be sent to the procurator fiscal.

Ms Lawson was born in Whitby, North Yorkshire and it is believed she may still have family in the area.

It is believed she may have other relatives across the country, but a police spokesman said there was no information over their whereabouts at this time.

A police spokesman said: “Anyone who can assist officers with their enquiries is asked to contact Lothian and Borders Police immediately on 0131 311 3131.”
