Police issue appeal in bid to trace missing Granton man

Police in Edinburgh have issued a public appeal in an effort to trace a man reported missing in the Granton area of the city.

Kevin Whyte was last seen shortly after 8am on Tuesday, July 24 in Granton Gardens.

It is understood that he may have then boarded the No. 19 bus from the stop opposite Granton Church. The 32-year-old did not arrive at work as expected, has not returned home, and has not spoken to his family since.

Kevin is described as white, 5ft 10ins tall, of slim build, with blue eyes and short dark blonde/light brown receding hair.

He was last seen wearing blue Crosshatch trousers, a white belt, a white Nike T-shirt with a round neck, a black jacket and a Casio watch.

Mr Whyte is known to take walks in the Cramond Foreshore area and may have travelled there.

Sergeant David Stupart of Drylaw Police Station said: “This behaviour is out of 
character for Kevin and we are very concerned for his welfare.

“We’d urge anyone who may have seen him since this time, or who has information on where he may be, to contact us as soon as possible.”

Anyone with information is urged to contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident number 1198 of July 27.
