Edinburgh Southern MSP Daniel Johnson tops Labour's Lothian list for May elections


A ballot of party members across the region placed Mr Johnson number one in the rankings, followed by his MSP colleague Sarah Boyack at number two.
The list is “zipped” with alternating male and female candidates as part of the party’s measures to promote gender balance.

Hide AdFoysol Choudhury, chair of Edinburgh and Lothian Regional Equality Council, takes the third slot, with Edinburgh Central candidate Maddy Kirkman fourth, former London councillor Nick Ward fifth, followed by Kirsteen Sullivan, depute leader of West Lothian Council, party activist Frederick Hessler and Midlothian councillor Stevie Curran.
Labour currently has three MSPs in Lothian – Mr Johnson in Edinburgh Southern and two list MSPs, Ms Boyack and Neil Findlay, who is standing down.
