Nicola Sturgeon update RECAP: First Minister says no change to pandemic rules | Fears COP26 could see spike in cases in Scotland | New post-arrival testing regime for Scotland
The First Minister gave an update to MSPs in the Scottish Parliament.
She confirmed Scotland will see no new restrictions as a result of Covid-19, Nicola Sturgeon has said, but the situation with the virus “remains fragile”.

Hide AdThe First Minister told MSPs on Tuesday there had been a slight increase of about 2% in cases in the last few days.
Nicola Sturgeon added Cop26 will “inevitably” pose a risk of transmission of Covid-19.
But the First Minister told MSPs work has been done by the Scottish Government and United Nations to mitigate the effects.

The First Minister has now moved on to COP and has said that the same rules will apply to delegates as it will to members of the public however she admits that the number of people could result in a spike in cases. She says: “It is inevitably the case that an event of this scale poses a risk of increased Covid transmission.”
On COP26 Nicola Sturgeon said it will “inevitably” pose a risk of transmission of Covid-19, Nicola Sturgeon has said.
She said: “The hosting of Cop26 would always have been a significant challenge for the UK and Scottish governments and Glasgow City Council.
“However, the fact it is happening amidst the global pandemic makes it even more so.
“It is inevitably the case that it poses a risk of increased Covid transmission.
“I want to assure Parliament and the public, however, that the Scottish Government has been working closely with the United Nations and the UK Government to mitigate these risks as far as possible.”
Vaccination appointments for all 12 to 15-year-olds have been scheduled, Nicola Sturgeon has said.
The First Minister told MSPs 53% of the age group have had their first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine.
She said: “I can also provide an update on vaccination of young people. I mentioned earlier that 53% of 12 to 15-year-olds have now received their first jag.
“I can confirm that everyone in that age group has now had an appointment scheduled and should have received a letter telling them about that.
“I would again encourage all 12 to 15-year-olds not already vaccinated, and their parents and carers, to read the online information about vaccination so that they can take an informed decision about getting the jag.”

The First Minister explains the steps that have been taken and that the Scottish Government have continued to try and follow the science and do what they think is right.
Jackie Baillie also hits out at the booster vaccine rollout in Argyll and Bute and the delay in NHS Highland.
The FM says that it is important that the vaccine rollout works as planned and says she will look at NHS Highland rollout but that there has always been a catch up on JCVI advice.
