George McIntyre’s post on Facebook told how he was “sick to the back teeth” of “whinging” Muslims and suggested they should leave the country.

The former warrant officer in the Royal Scots is due to stand for the Conservatives for the Bonnyrigg and Lasswade ward in May’s local authority elections.

A spokesman for the Scottish Conservatives said: “These comments are clearly unacceptable, and we have suspended George McIntyre with immediate effect.”

Mr McIntyre was responding in 2013 to news that a programme to vaccinate Glasgow schoolchildren against flu had been delayed amid concerns it contained pork products.

The Fluenz vaccine was being given as a nasal spray that contained gelatine. It was put back for a number of weeks so Muslims could be offered a traditional jab instead.

“Sickened to the core!” Rages Mr McIntyre in his error-strewn post.

“The entire City of Glasgow childrens flu innoculations were halted because a handful of Muslims are whinging about the fact there was geletine in the mix and they can’t take it!!!

“Well don’t frigging take it then and shut your whinging mouths, no wonder people get sick to the back teeth of you! If you are that way minded go and live in a Muslim country where you do not get any free preventive medication.

“Oh but you won’t do that will you.... ungrateful baskets I’m sick to the back teeth of them. Its

for our councillors to man up and tell them to sod off. Whinge over.”

Despite being online for three-and-a-half years Mr McIntyre still passed the Tories’ vetting procedures.

It comes a week after the Tories gave a dressing down to fellow Midlothian candidate Robin Traquair for an “unacceptable” tweet suggesting the Queen wanted James Bond to assassinate Nicola Sturgeon.

The tweet posted by Mr Traquair, who is standing for the Dalkeith ward, showed a picture of the Queen taking part in her Olympic opening ceremony stunt with the 007 actor Daniel Craig.

Craig/Bond is quoted as saying: “So Ma’am, Nicola Sturgeon?” Her Majesty replies: “Just make it look like an accident 007.”

A Conservative spokesman said: “We will be speaking to the individual concerned about this unacceptable Tweet.”

Of the latest controversy, the SNP questioned why Mr McIntyre had been approved as a council candidate in the first place.

Kelly Parry, SNP councillor for Midlothian West, condemned his “horrifying” comments.

“One week after we had a Midlothian Tory council candidate think it’s ok to ‘joke’ about violence against women, we now have this charmer having hate fuelled rage towards Muslims.

“This is not okay, and very disappointing. These comments wouldn’t be out of place at a Donald Trump rally let alone a Midlothian council election.”
