Silence to remember victims of Westminster attack

A MINUTE'S silence was observed at the Scottish Parliament this morning in solidarity with colleagues at Westminster who started today's business by pausing to remember those killed and injured in yesterday's terrorist attack.

MSPs, parliament staff and other building users stopped work and committee meetings were halted to observe the silence timed for 9.33am, when the House of Commons met.

Flags at the Scottish Parliament are also flying at half-mast.

Party business managers at Holyrood have agreed the debate on a second independence referendum - abandoned yesterday after news of yesterday’s incident began to come through - will be resumed on Tuesday afternoon next week.

At First Minister’s Questions today, each of the party leaders is expected to ask about yesterday’s events at Westminster.
