Portobello High Street: Woman dies after crash involving lorry and bicycle

Emergency services were called to the scene at 2:45pm on Monday after the collision near Portobello High Street.
Police later confirmed that the 36-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene.

Hide AdSergeant Mark Banner, from Police Scotland's Road Policing Unit, said: "Our thoughts are with the deceased's family at this tragic time.
"We are asking for anyone who was in the area and saw the collision take place to please come forward.
"If you have potential dash cam or CCTV footage in that area around 2.45pm, that could also greatly assist our enquiries.
“Anyone with information is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident 1829 of 2 November.”

Hide AdOfficers were on the scene for several hours and nearby roads closed while investigations were carried out.
It is the second major collision involving a cyclist and a lorry in the area in two years.
In March 2019, cyclist Stuart Elliot was killed in a collision with a HGV at the junction with Sir Harry Lauder Road.
Local safe cycling group, Spokes Porty, said they were “appalled” at news of “another very serious incident” at the junction.
