The Premier Inn and New Look on Princes Street have been evacuated after a fire alarm at the hotel.

Shoppers and hotel guests were asked to leave both premises as two fire engines were called to the scene shortly before 3.30pm.

The incident has been confirmed as a 'false alarm' by the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service.
