£1000 grant for Capital businessman
Samuel Zawadzki, 22, is co-founder of the website Digilets, which creates computer programmes to help landlords and small lettings agencies manage their properties.
The cash, which was awarded from a fund set up by Sir Richard Branson’s Virgin company, will allow Mr Zawadzki to develop his business.
He met Sir Richard and other big names in business at a conference in Liverpool yesterday.
Mr Zawadzki said: “This money will make a real difference.
“Being able to discuss business with Richard Branson was an incredible, unforgettable experience.
“The event, and meeting so many like-minded individuals, was hugely inspirational.
“I believe supporting innovative start-ups, especially those leveraging technology, is essential in regaining economic prosperity.”
Neil Berkett, chief executive of Virgin Media, said: “Scotland is full of talented people. I hope that winning our competition will make a real difference for DigiLets.”
