£625 raised for veterans

WEST Lothian Golf Club has raised £625 in aid of the country’s veterans by holding a fundraising golf day.

Members of the 6249-yard course held the competition in support of veterans’ charity Erskine, which runs a care home in Gilmerton.

The club’s general manager, Alan Gibson, pro Alan Reid and club member Billy Marr recently handed over the money raised on the day to Edinburgh fundraiser John Fyfe.

Mr Fyfe said: “I am delighted to receive this cheque from West Lothian Golf Club from its tremendous day of fundraising for our veterans’ charity.”
