Pupil contest is in the write

A SCOTTISH poet was today set to launch a new writing competition in a city primary school.

Edinburgh-based performance poet Anita Govan was to launch the Green Pencil Award at Liberton Primary today, alongside the headteacher of the school and some pupils.

The Green Pencil Award is a creative writing competition now in its fourth year, which is open to all pupils between primary four and primary seven.

The competition, which encourages pupils to write about environmental issues, runs from today until October 14.
