The victim, aged in her early 20s, was raped on Friday May 17 in woodlands in the Gore Glen Country Park/Arniston Estate area near Gorebridge, Midlothian.

The male suspect is described as being white, in his mid-20s, 6ft 3in, with a slim build and short fair hair. He was wearing faded blue jeans and a white T-shirt.

The victim was white and had dark shoulder-length hair.

Police Scotland officers are trying to trace people who may have spoken to or seen a distressed woman in that area or remember seeing the woman with a man in the woods or in Gorebridge.

They particularly want to talk to any dog walkers who were in the area on the day in question between 1pm and 4pm.
