1966

PATHHEAD: The surface of the ground at Pathhead FC’s park is not as smooth as it ought to be. Moles have been causing trouble by throwing up mounds of earth all over the pitch.

1991

PENICUIK: The Penicuik community has lost its claim to a public right of way between the town’s High Street and Valleyfield Mill. Midlothian Council’s planning committee has agreed to remove Delf Brae from the register.

LOANHEAD: A unique artistic record of the year-long miners’ strike of the 1980s has gone on show at the Scottish Mining Musem. German-born artist Karl Wagener began putting together his portfoliio of oil paintings on the picket line at Bilston Glen and went on to spend 250 days painting in all weathers.
