Residents to have say on homes plan

Residents in a Midlothian village are being asked to give their views on a major new housing development.

Persimmon Homes has announced plans to build around 400 new homes in the south of Mayfield.

The proposed development will be the subject of a consultation meeting at McSence Business Park, Sycamore Road on Thursday from 4.30pm to 7.30pm.

Chairman of Mayfield and Easthouses Community Council Robert Hogg said the plans would have a “major impact” on amenities in the community and its size.

He said: “I would urge local people to come along on the night and have their say. I will be there in person to answer any questions also on the plans that local people have.”
