Rethink on health talks

MEMBERS of the public could play a greater role in future health board meetings under plans being considered by NHS Lothian.

Health chiefs are concerned that attendance at the bi-monthly seminars is generally low, partly because of a lack of awareness.

They are also considering moving the meetings to evenings to make them more accessible.

However, some bosses have warned that encouraging people to attend would mean changing the format, which currently does not allow for any public participation.
