MORE than 100 Edinburgh companies have released gender pay gap data following last night's deadline.

Reporting a 53.2 per cent disparity, Premier Oil PLC top the list with the highest median pay gap between male and female employees. This means that women earn 47p for every £1 that men earn.

At the other end of the scale, Graham Tiso Limited pay women 43.8 per cent more than men.

Edinburgh all=girls school, Mary Erskine’s, reported the third highest median pay gap along with sister school Stewart’s Melville College, which is also a single sex institution.

The average median pay gap for companies based in Edinburgh was 12.9 per cent, which compares to a national average of 12 per cent.
