Reward offered for missing wedding photos

A PHOTOGRAPHER is offering a reward after all the pictures from a couple's wedding in the Capital went missing.

The photos of Emily Murray and Sam Rowan’s big day, which were lost on Saturday evening, are on four memory cards in a small black case about 3 inches x 2 inches.

Professional photographer Ben Selway says he will give £200 for their return.

Mr Selway last handled the pictures around 8pm in the Caledonian Hotel, but he and wife Sarah later took a taxi from the hotel to stay with friends in Musselburgh. They only discovered the case was missing on Sunday morning, but they believe it could have been lost in the hotel or getting into the taxi.

The hotel is checking CCTV footage and the taxi firm has said it is not in the taxi.

The bride and groom, who live in London, were married at St Patrick’s Church in the Cowgate, then had an afternoon reception for 30 at the Timberyard restaurant in Lady Lawson Street and then moved on to the Caledonian in the evening.

A devastated Ms Murray, 29, who is a solicitor, said: “We had such a wonderful day, but this has taken the edge off the euphoric feeling after the wedding.

“We just don’t know what has happened.

“I feel so sorry for the photographer. He must feel awful.

“He was busy taking photos from 8am right through till he sat down in the hotel at the end.”

She and her 31-year-old new husband, a film artist, are hoping the photos turn up before they leave for their honeymoon on Saturday.
